Job Summary

The Court of Administrative Hearings (CAH) seeks to hire a Court Operations Associate in our St. Paul office. CAH is the largest of three Executive Branch Courts with over 75 full‑time employees located in St. Paul and Duluth. CAH hears cases for over 250 state agencies and local units of government in over 200 unique areas of administrative law and is Minnesota’s workers’ compensation trial court.

Role Overview:

  • Provide high‑quality, advanced level clerical support for new workers’ compensation court cases.
  • Evaluate and process associated documents filed with CAH, exercising discretion and independent judgment.
  • Maintain accurate court records and ensure compliance with Minnesota rules and statutes.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing, analyzing, and processing cases for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Minnesota rules and statutes.
  • Maintaining and updating parties of record.
  • Generating notices.
  • Analyzing and processing eFiled documents, identifying specific requirements, and indicating appropriate information in the C-Track case management system.
  • Providing accurate responses to public or agency case inquiries.

This position is a hybrid work opportunity; employees must work a minimum of five (5) days in the office per pay period (every 2 weeks).

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Resumes should clearly describe experience in the areas listed and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each prior position.

  • Customer service skills to provide prompt and accurate information to customers over the phone, via email, and through written or electronic correspondence.
  • Ability to accurately input, verify, and edit electronic data.
  • Document and records management skills to file and categorize electronic documents accurately.
  • Database management skills to enter and retrieve data.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Strong organization and planning skills to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of the C-Track case management system.
  • General knowledge of the State of Minnesota’s workers’ compensation system.
Physical Requirements

This is a sedentary position that occasionally requires moving file folders, laptops, or accounting boxes. Employees may need to maintain a stationary position for long periods.

Additional Requirements

The Court of Administrative Hearings requires a background investigation prior to employment. Background check may include SEMA4 Records Check (applicable to current and former state employees).
