About the JobThis position is designed to cook fly food that are used for Drosophila (fruit flies) research and education on campus. This task requires precision and accuracy. The candidate will receive training. Approximately 10 hours a week.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- 90% Fly Food Cooking:
Preparing fly food for the Drosophila lab community - 10% Maintain Fly Stocks:
Assist in maintaining fly stocks
Required Qualifications: BA/BS or work experience to equal two years.
Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and focus.
DepartmentThe Department of Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development encompasses a broad range of biological disciplines, including the storage and expression of information, its translation into the workings of individual cells, and the assembly of cells into tissues and organ systems.
Pay and BenefitsPay Range: $21.60 - $22.00 hourly, depending on education/qualifications/experience.
Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor-Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
