Operations Student Leads – Service Desk and Maintenance
Provides leadership, training, communication, and support as liaison between Operations leadership and student workers. Oversees Service Desk and Maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities- Use scheduling software to set up monthly schedules for student workers in both Operations teams.
- Learn building hours and schedule priorities.
- Work with leadership to schedule workers for events outside normal hours.
- Communicate with other Service Desk workers about scheduling needs, timelines, and expectations; manage weekly hour maximums.
- Serve as first point of contact for students who cannot fulfill their shifts.
- Update Operations documents and SOPs as needed.
- Provide training to service desk student workers on processes, policies, and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Provide routine maintenance, project work, event support, light maintenance, grounds keeping, landscape plantings and mowing, snow removal, grounds setup for events, and mail and consumable deliveries.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self‑starter, motivated to proactively address issues, and willing to ask for help.
- Ability to describe problems and solutions over the phone.
- Must be able to read and write English.
- Can lift up to 30 pounds.
- Must be on campus during peak periods (September, January, May, June). Extended time away must be discussed in advance.
- Experience working independently.
- Interest in learning about technology and A/V equipment.
- Effective troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Commit to a regular work schedule for the semester; evening and weekend work may be required.
- Must be punctual; advance notice required for time off.
- Sign a special agreement regarding administration of student passwords and confidential account information.
