PURPOSE OF THE POSITIONLead a skilled team that works on track construction projects while driving safety, service, and productivity. Railway experience is preferred but 5+ years in thermite or flash butt welding is also ideal. A solid understanding of collective bargaining agreements (CBA) is essential for managing workflows effectively, and candidates with experience in construction or manufacturing management are encouraged to apply.
POSITIONACCOUNTABILITIES
- Mentor an average of 12 direct reports to improve efficiency and hold accountability when needed
- Review planned capital work, confirm material, and execution requirements
- Ensure CPKC regulatory compliance for respective track projects
- Develop and implement work processes and changes that achieve continuous improvement
- Promote and ensure adherence to CPKC policies, safety practices, and procedures across all team members, fostering a culture of safety and accountability
- Evaluate planned capital work, validate material readiness, and confirm execution strategies to ensure seamless project delivery and alignment with organizational objectives
- High school diploma or general equivalency
- Valid driver’s license
- Minimum of 2 years’ track experience
- 100% travel (expenses covered by CPKC), territory from St. Paul, MN to Bensenville, IL
- Capability to lead a project plan/schedule
- Strong leadership skills with ability to manage and inspire teams to achieve goals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

This is a safety‑sensitive position and a successful pre‑employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company or regulated drug test is required. Post‑hire qualification drug testing may also be required.
