Associate Project Manager

Boston Scientific was recognized as a Glassdoor Best Place to Work in 2026, ranking No. 15 on the Top 100 list, reflecting the culture our employees experience every day.

This role will partner with cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams to translate program objectives into executable plans, drive deliverables and accountability, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure progress against key program milestones.

The ideal candidate brings strong foundational project management skills, a collaborative working style and the ability to bring structure to complex programs, anticipate challenges and drive teams toward results.

Boston Scientific's Active Implantable Systems (AIS) R&D organization is standing up a dedicated AI Transformation Office to bring AI-enabled tools, platforms and workflows into our regulated product development lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team that will enable the re-imaging of how work gets done across our R&D engineering functions. We are seeking an Associate Project Manager to drive the program schedule, governance cadence and cross-functional coordination that keeps this transformation on track from stand-up through steady-state operation.

This is a hands-on technical program management role at the center of a small, fast-moving core team. You will coordinate work streams spanning AI architecture, solution delivery, data engineering and change enablement, working alongside senior technical leaders, IT, Quality, Regulatory and external technology partners. The role requires strong program discipline, the judgment to manage risk and ambiguity in a first-of-its-kind initiative, and comfort operating with modern collaboration and AI-assisted productivity tools.

This position is based in Arden Hills, Minnesota.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drive the end-to-end program schedule, milestones, risks and dependencies across multiple work streams in one dedicated project.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams to align priorities, coordinate activities, solve problems and deliver against program commitments.
  • Drive day-to-day project execution by establishing clear ownership, tracking deliverables and commitments, and driving actions to closure.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources and deliverables against established plans.
  • Identify and manage cross-functional dependencies and priorities, ensuring impacts to key program milestones are understood and addressed.
  • Proactively identify risks and issues, partner with the team to develop mitigation and recovery plans, and escalate when program objectives or milestones are at risk.
  • Foster accountability and shared ownership across the team and influence results without direct authority.
  • Facilitate effective project meetings and working sessions, ensuring clear decisions, actions, owners and follow-through.
  • Maintain clear visibility into program health through project schedules, dashboards, action and risk tracking, and other project management tools.
  • Communicate project status, progress, risks, issues and decisions clearly and proactively to stakeholders and leadership.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in project management, product development, engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated project management experience developing and managing project timelines, budgets, resources, risks and deliverables.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments and managing multi-workstream program governance.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and interdependent work streams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships, influence without direct authority, and drive accountability and results.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate project status, risks and issues.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing AI, machine learning or software platform transformation programs.
  • Experience working within a regulated or highly compliance-driven industry; medical device experience is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with PLCP, Design Controls and medical device quality systems.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or formal project management training.
  • Fluency with modern collaboration and AI-assisted productivity tooling (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Slack, Codex, Claude Code or similar agentic platforms).
  • Experience with change management methodologies (e.g., ADKAR/Prosci)
