Operations Manager
Superintendent I SUMMARY
BLUvera is currently seeking a Superintendent I.
Candidate must have excellent proven leadership skills to manage a manufacturing plant in the construction industry. Must be able to create and drive schedules, manage trade partners, hire craft laborers, handle material, and have a builders mindset. Must have construction experience and be able to teach craft effectively with proven results.
Must be willing to be at the St. Paul, MN facility M-F minimum from 7 a.m.
- 3:30 p.m. daily.
Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position. Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Plan and implement to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule
- Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability
- Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies
- Develop and manage project schedules, including three and six‑week look‑ahead schedules
- Develop a site logistics plan and lead the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment
- Collaborate with project partner superintendents
- Conduct on‑site project orientations, pre‑construction planning sessions, and project site meetings
- Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; interview, hire, transfer, and dismiss craft team members as needed
- Coach and mentor assistant superintendents, craft team members, and other project team members
- Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards, track work progress and craft productivity
- Handle craft team member training and conduct career development discussions
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and manage performance
- Provide high‑level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members
- Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions and seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience
- Minimum 5 years construction management or related experience
- Current driver’s license
- Ability to fulfill responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
- Detail‑oriented with ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks
- Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
- Active listening skills and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback
- Ability to travel up to 100%

Base pay range for this role is $111,400 – $167,100. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
