Salary. $90,000 – $125,000 per year (based on experience, type of work, and qualifications). Bonus Program eligibility.(This pay range is a good-faith estimate of compensation for this role.)

Our Paving Superintendent oversees and manages asphalt paving operations on various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in asphalt paving, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.

- Order specific mixes for jobs.
- Provide crews with what they need.
- Provide weekly and monthly schedules.
- Provide info to plants daily and weekly.
- Provide trucking to dispatch daily and weekly.
- Communicate changes as they happen.
- Verify that grade is right and ready.
- Supervise and coordinate daily paving operations, including crew activities, equipment usage, and material delivery.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specified quality standards.
- Monitor job site safety and enforce compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and clients.
- Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Manage and track production rates, labor hours, and material quantities.
- Troubleshoot issues and make real-time decisions to maintain project progress.
- Train and mentor crew members to promote skill development and teamwork.
- Maintain accurate daily reports and documentation.
- Read and communicate work orders.
- Maintain accurate and detailed field reports. Help manage customer expectations.
- Attend pre-con meetings.
- Make sure traffic control is ordered and placed prior to work.
- Communicate the day’s work with Foremen.
- Wear and monitor employees for PPE use and discuss issues with anyone not complying.
- Check completed jobs for quality, drainage and clean-up.
- Check field logs to make sure field reporting must-haves are on report before approving.
- Get accurate measurements, tonnage and trucking for the next day’s work.
- Maintain proper communication with customers and estimators so they know when work is to be completed.
- Ensure Foremen are painting out areas with tonnage so crews can stay on quantity.
- Communicate any questionable areas on job with Estimators, before proceeding.
- Be a positive influence on others within the organization.
- Be professional and respectful by leading with integrity and maintaining confidentiality.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in asphalt paving, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of paving equipment, techniques, and materials.
