Are you looking to take the next step in your career? If so, we are seeking an Agency Executive/Project Manager to serve as a construction manager for State of Minnesota construction projects. In this position, you will provide experienced project leadership for 20–40 statewide projects simultaneously while working with each customer agency, agency and consultant architects/engineers, construction contractor, and other project team members and stakeholders from the beginning of each project through completion, including the pre‑design, design, bidding and procurement, construction, and post‑construction phases.
The Real Estate and Construction Services (RECS) division manages over 400 construction projects and 800 property leases annually. The State has a real property footprint that includes 5,585 buildings and a gross square‑foot and acreage equaling about 5.5% of the State. Under the Construction Services unit, Admin serves as the State's owner's representative on construction projects for Minnesota state agencies.
This position is eligible for up to a 50% hybrid telework arrangement. With a telework arrangement, onsite attendance may be required for team meetings or as requested by management to meet business needs. Completion of a telework agreement will be required.
In addition, traveling of up to 75% of the time to visit project sites throughout the State will be required.
Minimum Qualifications- Five (5) years of experience as a construction manager, architect, engineer, general contractor, or comparable position as the responsible‑in‑charge project manager/owner's representative for multi‑million dollar institutional and commercial building projects. Experience must demonstrate the ability to successfully manage construction projects from pre‑design through post‑occupancy project phases.
- A Master's degree in construction management, construction science, architecture, engineering, or related field may substitute for 18 months of experience.
- A Bachelor's degree as specified above may substitute for one (1) year of experience as described.
- An Associate's degree as specified above may substitute for six (6) months of experience as described.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in construction management, construction science, architecture, engineering, or closely related degree.
- Previous Construction Project Management experience in Owners Project Representative organization (management of projects for private or public owner).
- Formal Project Management Training (Certificate) from PSMJ Resources, Inc. or Project Management Institute (PMI).
- Previous experience managing projects using a project management software such as MS Project with Project Web Application (PWA-MS Project).
