Commercial Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Superintendent to lead and coordinate all on-site construction activities from project startup through completion. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within quality standards, and in compliance with all contract requirements, drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing commercial construction projects, coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades, maintaining project schedules, enforcing site safety programs, and driving successful project execution. This position works closely with Project Managers, owners, architects, inspectors, and trade partners throughout the construction process.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all on-site construction activities from project startup through completion.
- Supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to ensure work is performed safely and according to plans and specifications.
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules while coordinating trade sequencing and daily activities.
- Conduct daily site walks to monitor progress, quality, productivity, and safety.
- Enforce company safety programs and maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
- Coordinate inspections with local authorities, government representatives, and other project stakeholders.
- Review project drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals to ensure proper execution of work.
- Identify and resolve field issues affecting schedule, budget, quality, or safety.
- Maintain accurate project documentation including daily reports, inspection records, safety logs, and progress updates.
- Lead subcontractor meetings and coordinate project logistics.
- Monitor workforce productivity and adjust manpower needs as necessary.
- Communicate project status, risks, and solutions with Project Managers and executive leadership.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards, company expectations, and client requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years of experience as a Commercial Superintendent.
- Proven experience managing multiple subcontractors and trades on commercial construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local construction regulations.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- Experience with construction management and daily reporting software.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain project schedules and drive projects to completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing government, municipal, public-sector, military, or educational construction projects.
- Experience coordinating inspections with government agencies and regulatory authorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience with complex commercial construction projects and multiple project stakeholders.

Work Environment
This position is primarily based on active commercial construction sites and requires a consistent on-site presence throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and trade partners while utilizing construction management software to track progress and maintain project documentation. The work environment is fast-paced, deadline-driven, and highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality control, schedule management, and regulatory compliance.
Occasional extended hours may be required to support critical project milestones, inspections, and key construction activities.
