Base Pay Range

$18.00/hr - $18.00/hr

STATUS: Hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for Overtime)

REPORTS TO: Front Desk Manager

GENERAL

PURPOSE:

Builds a first impression for the guests by providing punctual, courteous and efficient handling of requests, including check-in and checkout, cashier registers and answering calls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prioritize, organize and manage work tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to support a positive team-oriented workplace.
  • Perform job duties with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Greet and welcome guests in a friendly, courteous, and sincere manner.
  • Check guests in and out professionally, ensuring accuracy and adherence to brand standards.
  • Complete the guest registration process using hotel computer systems and property management software.
  • Accurately handle cash transactions, credit/debit cards, checks, and vouchers with strict attention to detail.
  • Provide concierge services, including local recommendations and guest assistance.
  • Deliver consistently high levels of customer service to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Respond to guest inquires, requests and concerns in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
  • Provide accurate information or obtain necessary details to resolve guest needs.
  • Perform the duties of Telephone Operator in a friendly and courteous manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES: None

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous Hotel Front Desk experience preferred but not required.
  • Must be available days, evenings and weekends.
  • 1 year of Customer Service required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma/GED – preferred but not mandatory.
  • Thorough organization and time management skills to complete tasks efficiently and timely.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively deal with guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
  • Basic mathematical skills and considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error.
  • Ability to listen effectively and to speak English clearly to communicate with customers and employees and prepare written complex reports of room availability and revenues generated.
  • Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions in accordance with established procedures including but not limited to posting all charges, completing cashier or other reports, preparing deposit, and counting/securing assigned bank.
  • Able to perform all essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations and to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Ability to lift and transport luggage weighing up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to analyze information and make effective judgments.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
