Guest Service Employee
Available shifts include weekday evenings from 5pm-9:15pm and weekends 12:15pm-8:15pm. Guest Service employees are primarily responsible for selling memberships at our Community Center. This is a fast-paced environment with over 500,000 visitors each year. Guest Service staff also support the Service Desk (during high use times), Manager on Duty, and conduct facility tours as needed. The Community Center has two banquet rooms, meeting rooms, a fireside lounge reception area, a gymnasium, fitness studios, a running/walking track, fitness center, indoor water park, child care center, locker rooms and more.
Our Parks & Recreation Department offers a wide variety of classes and programs throughout the facility as well. A training and orientation is provided to new employees.
- Educate potential members regarding membership features and benefits; provide tours and make appropriate membership recommendations; place calls to potential members and schedule appointments
- Maintain accurate records and confirm appropriate information for health insurance plans (Some insurance companies offer members a monthly rebate for working out)
- Operate in a support capacity at our Service Desk providing information and troubleshooting guest issues and concerns; maintain a high level of customer service to members and guests
- Provide rental information for birthday party and banquet room rentals
- Operate a computer and cash register; reconcile cash through cash procedures
- Other duties as assigned by the Community Center management team
- Help with banquet and meeting room setups
- Ability to successfully work with a variety of people to answer questions and resolve problems; act with a sense of urgency
- Good organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task and track a large quantity of information from multiple sources
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner, anticipating member and organizational needs and preparing accordingly
- Ability to operate a computer, including adequate typing skills (40+ wpm)
- Ability to operate a cash register, make correct change, and reconcile cash
- Must be 18 years of age or older, and have your high school diploma or equivalent
Hours:

Physical demands and work environment Duties of the job are primarily performed in an indoor community center and customer service environment. Employee is frequently required to walk or stand for extended periods of time while assisting members and guests throughout the building.
Duties may involve walking throughout the facility to provide tours, assist patrons, and set up banquet and meeting rooms. The employee will occasionally lift, carry, push, or move tables, chairs, and other equipment weighing up to 35 pounds. Work may involve multitasking in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of customer service.
