Guest Service Receptionist
Guest Service Receptionists provide a variety of customer service related activities and complete various transactions for patrons that contact the New Brighton Parks and Recreation Department, assist City and facility staff with customer needs and complete office support and light housekeeping responsibilities as scheduled or requested.
We are seeking a dependable and energetic team member to join our team. This position entails approximately 12 hours per week during weekday hours (Monday–Friday) with shifts scheduled between 8:45 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., depending on program needs. In this role, you will work closely with a diverse community and support daily guest service operations in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be comfortable with:
- Standing for prolonged periods of time
- Multitasking and managing multiple responsibilities at once
- Communicating effectively with people of all backgrounds
- Providing friendly, reliable service to the community

Essential Functions- Welcomes walk-in customers and answers callers' inquiries; completing and entering program registration and membership transactions into the appropriate database.
- Extensive contact with the general public and staff from all City departments
- Performs various office support duties and housekeeping tasks as scheduled or requested.
- Completes established opening and closing procedures for the NBCC as scheduled.
- Performs other job related responsibilities as apparent or assigned.
- High school education or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of one-year experience as a cashier.
- Previous work experience with data entry;
Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook. - Displays the ability to deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner which projects a favorable image of the City.
- Considerable typing experience, including letters, flyers, reports, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment with upper level clerical responsibility.
- OR such alternatives to the above qualifications as the City may find appropriate and acceptable.
