Minnesota Children’s Museum’s mission is sparking children’s learning through play. We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion is integral to fulfilling our mission. As a community resource for thousands of families, Minnesota Children’s Museum is dedicated to providing children with a fun, hands‑on and stimulating environment to explore and discover.
The Security Guard is responsible for assuring Minnesota Children’s Museum provides a safe and secure environment for all guests and staff while delivering excellent customer service to guests in the galleries and public spaces.
Security Guards at the museum do not possess weapons of any kind and are trained and expected to utilize de‑escalation skills when navigating potentially unsafe scenarios, including interacting with individuals who may be under the influence or experiencing mental illness.
As a Security guard, you will be part of the Visitor Services frontline team and will be cross‑trained to understand other roles and responsibilities to provide support. This is an environment with children; guards must be able to redirect children using different tactics. You will be instilled with a sense of purpose, responsibility and teamwork as you will be part of executing our mission.
