The work you ll do is more than just a job. This position exists to provide professional landscape architectural expertise to MnDOT District, Division, and Central Office personnel, and external clientele, for environmental design along MnDOT corridors and at MnDOT facilities and building sites. This position is also responsible for Minnesota’s Great River Road Program, which includes participating as a technical member of the ten-state and Minnesota Mississippi River Parkway Commissions, as required in Minnesota State Statute.
This includes developing plans and policies to facilitate the implementation of ten-state and Minnesota Great River Road corridor management plans.
This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.

The primary duties include providing professional landscape architectural services to support environmental design along MnDOT corridors and facilities, and contributing to the Great River Road program.
This position requires participation as a technical member of relevant commissions and development of plans and policies to support corridor management.
Minimum QualificationsApplicants must be licensed as a professional Landscape Architect with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design or be able to obtain licensure through the applicable process.
AND
Three (3) years of advanced professional experience as a licensed Landscape Architect doing the following work:
- Experience with all phases of landscape architecture sufficient to oversee visual impact assessments, visual quality management, landscape planning and detail design, construction documents (plan, specification, cost estimate), construction practices and maintenance operations.
- Experience with computer-aided landscape architectural tools sufficient to draft, design, and conduct computations (eg: CAD systems).
- Experience with GIS sufficient to data development, manage, analyze, plan, design or present.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
