The adjunct faculty position is responsible for delivering high-quality courses that support the institution’s mission and strategic goals. Teaching assignments are offered on an as-needed basis, depending on class size and semester availability. This role requires active engagement in the classroom, timely communication, and completion of assigned teaching training modules and tasks. This is an onsite position in Minnesota.

Course needs include: Spiritual Formation, Christian Leadership and various Ministry courses.

• Deliver high-quality instruction in assigned courses aligned with the institution’s mission and strategic goals.
• Maintain a consistent, active and positive presence in the classroom, facilitating course content and engaging with students.
• Monitor and participate in class discussions to promote interaction and learning.
• Respond promptly to student inquiries and concerns, fostering a supportive learning environment.
• Grade assignments and provide feedback in a timely manner; complete required teaching training modules.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required:

• Master’s Degree in Ministry/M.Div or related field and significant relevant professional experience.
• Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community.

Nice to have:

• Earned doctorate (Ph.D or Ed.D) with a Ministry, Christian Education, Practical Theology, or Intercultural Studies focus.
• Minimum of five years of direct experience within different sized churches, non-profit ministries, and/or mission-work.
• Previous teaching experience at the college level.

• Flexibility:
  Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
• Background Check:
  Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.
