POSITION SUMMARY
The Parenting Educator (Educator) for the Promising Practices program will provide family-centered home visiting support, assessments, resources, support groups, and education to meet the needs of the children and families enrolled in the program. The Educator will deliver culturally responsive and trauma-informed services to families while focusing on parent-child interactions, development-centered parenting, and family wellbeing. They will support families in accessing additional resources, such as referrals to additional support services, to ensure they can achieve family wellbeing.
The Parenting Educators will assist the Director of Family Services with overall program development, creation, and implementation, as well as with creating outreach plans for family participant recruitment. Utilizing the Promising Practices model, Educators will work closely with the parent partners to create and implement different plans and strategies to meet the family's needs.

LOCATION AND SCHEDULELocation: CLUES St. Paul
Position Type: Regular
Schedule: Full-Time. Generally, Monday - Friday; 9:00am-5:00pm. Occasional/Some evening or weekend hours when needed for outreach purposes or after-hour visits to clients.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSEstimated Pay: $22.00 to $24.00 (depending on experience & qualifications).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Conduct home visits with each family in the program.
- Plan, provide, and document personal visits focused on parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting, and family well-being.
- Develop, monitor, and review goals with each family.
- Complete initial and annual developmental screening and health review for each enrolled child.
- Complete initial and annual family-centered assessment with each family.
- Complete an initial and annual depression screening and parenting protective factors assessment with parents/guardians, providing emotional support as needed and referrals to mental health services when necessary.
- Connect families to community resources that help them reach their goals and address their needs.
- Plan and implement monthly Group Connections to give families an opportunity to build social connections with each other, engage in parent-child interactions activities, and increase their knowledge of ways to support children's development.
- Help parents and children transition to other services as needed, such as preschool or kindergarten.
- Maintain and submit in a timely fashion all required family and program documentation.
- Organize and inventory supplies/materials, etc.
- Attend and participate in the Promising Practices Community of Practice.
- Participate in at least 2 hours of reflective supervision monthly and at least 2 hours of staff meetings.
- Obtain competency-based professional development and renew parent educator certification annually.
- Engage in outreach and recruitment activities.
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, agency policies and other applicable laws, regulations and ethical standards.
- Promote the mission, operating values, and agency services of CLUES within the community.
- Carry out all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
