Position ScopeThis position exists to provide training, consultation and connection to resources supporting jurisdictional Restorative Practices Advisory Committee (RPAC) members, community members, restorative practices initiative administrators, volunteers and staff. Also, to build the capacity of counties and Tribal Nations to understand, promote, implement, and expand restorative practices through inspiration, communication, planning, training, implementation, policy, assessment, and evaluation as a key strategy for addressing violence and harm on all levels.
Responsibilities- Establish and develop Restorative Practice advisory committees in accordance with Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 142A.76, subd 6 (a), to build the capacity of counties and Tribal Nations to understand, promote, implement, and expand restorative practices. These committees will result in jurisdiction wide implementation of restorative practices.
- Through training, consultation and sharing of resources, work to reduce reoffending, truancy, violence and costs to local justice systems, and improved trust, relationships, outcomes and satisfaction for those affected by a given harm. Ensure the design and deployment of a dynamic web page focused on Restorative Practices resources, best practices, training availability and Restorative Practices guidance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of a project evaluation plan, including the design and application of evaluation tools and processes to measure effectiveness and outcomes of training and technical assistance activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by and contribute as needed to the division’s teams, responsibilities, and activities in an appropriate and timely manner.
Three (3) years of experience facilitating and promoting restorative practices for delinquency, diversion and criminal justice systems, child welfare, education, or community violence prevention programs as well as coordination, collaboration and training in restorative practice programs.
Interview Evaluation Criteria- Experience leading cross-functional teams by fostering collaboration, using diplomatic skills to navigate diverse perspectives, and aligning stakeholders with organizational goals with a focus on driving systemic change and eliminating disparities to improve outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing; ability to respond openly to requests and concerns; experience translating technical information into plain language for a variety of adult learners.
