Position Overview

The Testing Center Proctor is responsible for facilitating the operations of the testing centers in a computer lab environment. The incumbent is responsible for all operational functions of the testing center, proctors, data collection and reporting, collaboration with the academic team, and student experience. The incumbent will perform proctor duties when necessary and supervises the proctor role and responsibilities. The ability to analyze and process information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies in collaboration with the academic team is a key component of this role.

Responsibilities
  • Oversees day-to-day needs for testing centers.
  • Develops methods to increase student success during exams in collaboration with the academic team and Director of Nursing Services (DNS).
  • Develops testing center schedule in collaboration with nursing leadership.
  • Evaluates, enforces, and follows established protocol and policy for the testing center to ensure exam integrity and execution of policy.
  • Develops the testing center scheduled hours and proctor schedules to ensure adequate coverage of academic testing needs.
  • Responsible for the monitoring, data collection and resolution of any issues that arise in the testing center, i.e., student concerns, equipment issues, academic integrity concerns.
  • Tracks student testing anomalies reported by proctors in both in-person and online testing environments. Reports to academic team and DNS.
  • Communicates and educates testing policy and procedures to proctors, students, and faculty.
  • Collaborates with faculty and academic team to schedule student makeup exams when needed.
  • Coordinates with college partner’s accommodations department/team to ensure student information is appropriately documented and student needs are met while in the testing center.
  • Analyzes and evaluates testing center attendance weekly to report to academic team per testing center policy.
  • Applies technical knowledge and skills for problem solving, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of process and procedures related to delivery of the in person and online testing center programs.
  • Addresses technology issues that students may experience while testing when proctors are unable to resolve. Escalates these issues to the appropriate team for reconciliation.
  • Works collaboratively and builds relationships with appropriate technology partner helpdesks to investigate ongoing equipment and technology concerns and issues.
  • Maintains and updates knowledge of current operating technology.
  • Tracks inventory and orders supplies for testing center operations.
  • Resolves conflicts or complaints from customers (students and faculty) and staff (employees).
  • Ensures staff members follow company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties to ensure the overall health and success of the testing center.

  • Google Office Suite
Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; will accept experiential equivalent
  • Experience with MS Office software and Windows environments
  • Experience with Google office suite
  • Experience in a higher education environment is strongly preferred, but not required
  • Experience with Learning Management (LMS) and Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS) is strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
