OVERVIEW

LOCATION:

St. PaulPAY RATE: 16.50

The Tommies Together Volunteer Center provides resources to empower students, faculty and staff at the University of St. Thomas to become morally responsible leaders who think critically, act wisely and work skillfully to advance the common good through community engagement.

Position

Description:

Tommies Together Student Directors support the Tommies Together Volunteer Center by providing students with opportunities to explore community engagement, learn about social issues, and engage in collaborative change making. This support is provided through programming, one-on-one or group coaching, administrative assistance, and additional shared responsibilities. Below are position specific responsibilities and can be discussed in more detail with the Tommies Together Volunteer Center staff.

ALL Tommies Together Interns will be expected to:

* Attend scheduled Tommies Together staff group meetings and regular one-on-one meetings with advisor

* Work 6-10 office hours a week

* Serve as a resource for students or student groups looking for volunteer opportunities

* Maintain a clean working space & maintain ASC 311 storage with assistance from CCG staff

* Support events such as Welcome Days, Volunteer Fairs, Student Activities Fair, and other TTVC events and programs

* Create and update TTVC marketing materials using Canva

* Help plan and execute a reflection/celebration event for volunteers each semester

* Support Center for the Common Good staff with office wide administrative tasks as needed

* Abide by all University policies and procedures

* Assist with other duties as necessary

CEVEA Student Co-Director: (1 position available for Spring 2026)

* Collaborate with other CEVEA Student Co-Director and TTVC Graduate assistant to manage regular communication and logistics for CEVEA programs across campus

* Facilitate at least one event per month to support any of the following areas:
Civic Engagement, Voter Education, Voter Advocacy, Facilitated Dialogue, etc.

* Support the convening of civic-minded student groups on campus to promote student events and programs that address and respond to the needs and interests of students

* Stay up to date on upcoming elections and opportunities for democratic engagement, and update the St. Thomas community on these events

* Create opportunities for engagement with departments across campus

* Answer questions from students, typically via email or one-on-one meetings, about voter registration, civic engagement, etc.

* Engage with campus voter data and information to aid and assist with state and national reporting

* Support with the creation of the University of St. Thomas' Voter Action Plan

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Candidate must hold at least a 3.0 G.P.A

* Candidate must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable driving standard size university vehicles (5 to 7 passengers)

* Candidate must be or be willing to become an approved driver through UST

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Prior volunteer or event planning experience

* A passion for organization and community volunteering

* Experience volunteering with TTVC Programs

* Commitment to civic engagement

* Experience convening people across backgrounds and interests

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
