Position Summary: The Dean of the Stoltz School of Business provides bold, strategic, and biblically grounded leadership for the School, which is committed to training principled leaders prepared to integrate faith, excellence, and innovation in the marketplace. Rooted in the University’s Christ-centered mission, the dean advances a vision in which business serves as a force for human flourishing as students develop into God-honoring leaders in their home, church, community, and world.
In this role, the dean cultivates strong relationships with industry leaders, alumni, churches, and civic partners, strengthening pathways for internships, mentorship, experiential learning, and meaningful professional placement. This position is an 11-month position teaching 8 credits of a 24-credit contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
Apply sound judgment and evidence-based analysis to address complex challenges. Develop and implement academic strategies aligned with institutional mission and priorities; advocate for the university’s vision and values while prioritizing student learning and advancing student success. - Faculty Development & Support:
Oversee faculty recruitment, mentoring, evaluation, and professional growth initiatives; foster a culture of continuous improvement and scholarly engagement. - Student Success & Program Oversight:
Ensure academic programs meet quality standards, accreditation requirements, and support student achievement through evidence-based practices. - Budget & Resource Management:
Manage department/school budget responsibly, ensuring compliance, resource stewardship, and alignment with strategic goals. Balance innovation, compliance, and resource stewardship. - Administrative Liaison & Governance:
Champion and communicate the university’s vision, mission, and strategic priorities; ensure departmental alignment with institutional objectives. Serve as the primary liaison between department/school and university administration; communicate policies and decisions with clarity and integrity while constructively advocating for faculty and student needs. - Change Management:
Lead organizational change initiatives with transparency, empathy, and adaptability; implement innovative solutions to address evolving academic and regulatory contexts. - Build Collaborative Relationships:
Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships across academic departments, administrative units, and external partners, fostering trust, transparency, and a shared purpose. Promote collaborative solutions and address disagreement constructively; ensure outcomes align with institutional values and student-centered priorities. Actively network, publicly promote and position the school within the Twin Cities metro, proactively engaging with prospective students and families, businesses, hiring agencies, alumni, and philanthropic donors. - Perform other duties as requested or assigned
