The Supply Chain Technical Trainer is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating high-quality technical training programs for Material Management staff. The position provides instruction across all facets of supply chain operations, including inventory management best practices, systems and software (such as ERP and MRP), automated storage and retrieval systems, material handling processes, inventory tools and equipment, forklift certification, vehicle inspection and route training, and related safety protocols.

NOTE: The primary work hours will be first shift with the expectation that Technical Trainers will provide training during second and third shifts to meet training needs.

Recruitment Type: This posting is open continuously and will establish a six-month candidate pool for present and future openings. What you would do in this job

Conduct a training needs analysis with stakeholders and customers.

  • Gather data using various collection tools/techniques.
  • Assess data and define/create high-level design.
  • Conduct stakeholder meetings and incorporate feedback into design.
  • Perform duties within the Learning Management System (LMS), including assessing data and defining organizational and departmental-level reporting; developing curricula; assigning and monitoring training; assessing and documenting training; and acting as the Material Management admin for the LMS as directed.
Design and develop curricula for all employees within the assigned functional area.
  • Design and develop course outlines, syllabi, performance objectives, student guides, slides, exercises, performance support tools, and evaluation documents.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and incorporate feedback.
  • Create a project plan for all tasks related to creating a curriculum and meet these deadlines.
Deliver technical training to staff for all three shifts.
  • Prepare the classroom, equipment, training modules, materials, etc., prior to class.
  • Maintain/organize materials and equipment both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Act as a supervisor to students during classroom hours.
  • Use a hands-on approach along with dynamic activities to engage learning in the classroom.
  • Provide technical support to Materials Management staff upon request.

Evaluate the training impact on the individual, department, and organization.
  • Continually evaluate course effectiveness and update materials as needed.
  • Distribute assessment tools and collect/record data for analysis.
  • Conduct pre-hire testing for internal and external candidates.
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Seek out industry knowledge of supply chain best practices, adult learning methodologies, and new training tools and strategies.

  • Engage in process improvement activities within the Material Management Operations team and participate in professional development opportunities.

What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications)
  • High School diploma or GED AND six (6) years of experience in a supply chain or inventory management environment, including experience supporting or delivering technical training related to inventory or supply chain systems (e.g., WMS, SCM, ERP)
  • Associate's degree in supply chain-related fields, training and development, communications, information technology, adult education, or related field AND four (4) years of experience in supply chain or inventory…
