Position
:
Adjunct Professor – Choir Director (one‑year renewable contract, AY 2026‑2027, September 6, 2026 – May 13, 2027). No responsibilities during winter break (December 22, 2026 – January 19, 2027) or summer months.
- Direct weekly rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:10–5:40p.m.
- Collaborate with student leaders for sectional rehearsals on Wednesdays, 4:10–5:40p.m.
- Lead one‑off concerts and special events; examples include the Fall Semester Parent/Family Concert (November7,2026), Homecoming/Alumni church service (October4), Winter Christmas Concert (December
13), and seasonal retreats or bonding events. - Organize and conduct community service performances and outreach activities.
- Provide optional private vocal studio teaching for additional income.
- Maintain consistent communication with full‑time faculty, vocal instructors, and the Music Program Director.
- Manage the Choir’s restricted budget, fundraising opportunities, and calendar.
- Collaborate with choir student leadership and the Division Chair on budget and event planning.
- Participate in vocal auditions at the start of the fall term and select students for the Holliday Scholarship.
- Maintain ACapella’s relationship with alumni and Institutional Development.
- Bachelor of Arts from an accredited institution.
- Experience as a choir director.
- Proficiency in conducting, singing, and piano accompaniment.
- Master’s degree in music or DMA/Ph.D. from an accredited institution.
- 10+ years’ experience as a choir director.
USD
15,000 per year.
