Lyndale Neighborhood Association (LNA) is a place-based nonprofit that strives to empower neighbors to assume leadership roles in their own community while also striving to diversify that leadership to allow for a better mixing and sharing of ideas and cultures. We are a community-led organization, established in 1992. Our main programs include community garden sites, business façade revitalization grants, the LNA Education Program, which provides high-quality in-person adult English language and computer basics instruction, as well as several community engagement events and committees.

Member Duties :
Through grants from the MN's Department of Human Services and Hennepin County, the CTEP Member will provide digital access and inclusion services with a special focus on serving both elderly Somali residents at the Charles Horn Towers (CHT) public housing site in the Lyndale neighborhood and digitally-based work readiness for working aged participants at the LNA office. The member would work together with our Education team to get devices to community members, provide internet connectivity, tech support, and digital literacy and technology learning into our adult English language classes.
The program typically serves over 250 students each year and provides more than 18,000 hours of state-approved adult basic education in English and digital literacy instruction to English Language Learners (ELLs) in South Minneapolis. Our free, place-based education provides students with pathways to achieve personal, educational and employment goals, self-sufficiency and connect them with community.
