Summary

Mora High School is seeking a Health Teacher. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive health education to students, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment, and promoting overall wellness. This full-time position requires a commitment to empowering students with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed health decisions and lead healthy lives.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a dynamic health curriculum that aligns with state standards and best practices in health education.
  • Teach various health-related topics, including nutrition, physical fitness, mental health, substance abuse prevention, and sexual health.
  • Create engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect for diversity.
  • Organize and facilitate health-related activities, workshops, and events to promote wellness within the school community.
  • Collaborate with other educators, school staff, and community organizations to enhance the health education program and provide resources for students and families.
  • Stay current with advancements in health education and relevant research, integrating new information into the curriculum as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance, and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance and health-related concerns.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay informed about best practices in health education.
Requirements
  • Valid teaching license in Health Education
    .
  • Previous experience teaching health education at the high school level is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of health topics and current trends in health education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to promoting student well-being and health literacy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and community partners.
  • Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning.
