Position: ABE Teacher - Adult Learning GED/College Prep Instructor (Science)
Work Schedule:
Evenings - 1 night per week, 5 hours total including prep (Thursday nights preferred)
Pay: $42.91/hour (BA) or $43.74/hour (MA) based on the teacher labor agreement

Qualifications:
* Valid MN K-12 teaching license
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Ability to manage projects from conception to productive execution
* Adaptability to work in a team environment, flexibility, and proficiency in multiple teaching models
* Previous experience working with teens or adult learners in an interactive, results-orientated environment preferred
* Ability to adapt teaching methods based on students' strengths and weaknesses and prepare students to take the test to earn a high school equivalency credential
* Ability to be curious, flexible, and function well in a busy environment with high expectations for students and staff
* Digital literacy skills required, including integration of digital literacy into the student learning experience
Responsibilities:
* Lesson planning and instruction, monitoring student attendance, collaborating with other staff, and integrating technology into learning
* Align instruction to MN ABE Content Standards (CCRS, ACES/TIF, Northstar Digital Literacy)
* Analyze student needs and assess progress with CASAS assessments
* Use appropriate techniques for individual learning styles
* Provide for individual as well as group learning
* Responsible for record keeping for class and for accurately recording attendance, student progress, reasons for leaving the program
* Participate in staff meetings as assigned by coordinator
* Maintain levels of training criteria established by MDE ABE
