Position Summary

Concordia University, St. Paul invites applications for a full-time faculty member to lead and oversee its graduate programs in Special Education. This position combines teaching, program leadership, curriculum development, and student mentorship within a Christ-centered academic community.

The successful candidate will serve as Program Director for Special Education master’s programs, ensuring academic quality, regulatory compliance, and alignment with university mission and professional standards. This role includes collaboration with faculty across teacher education and engagement with school partners.

As a faith-based institution, we require the successful candidate to be an active member of a Christian church. Applicants should be prepared to discuss how their faith informs their teaching, scholarship, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for graduate Special Education programs
  • Teach graduate-level courses in special education and related areas
  • Lead program development, assessment, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Ensure compliance with state licensure and accreditation standards
  • Mentor and advise graduate students
  • Supervise part-time faculty and collaborate with college and university faculty and staff
  • Build and maintain partnerships with schools and educational organizations
  • Participate in university service, scholarship, and professional engagement
  • Participate in department-wide tasks and/or activities, including core course updates, faculty training, student symposiums, and leadership team meetings.
Qualifications (Required)
  • Minnesota Teacher License in Special Education-ASD, LD, or EBD
  • 5 years full-time teaching experience in special education
