Full Time Electrician Instructor – Technical College Faculty
Location:
Saint Paul, Minnesota. This position is full‑time, unlimited, and exempt under FLSA.

The successful candidate will teach the Electrical Technology program on campus, engaging students through hands‑on labs, mock‑ups, and a cohort of up to 24 students per class. Responsibilities include instructional delivery, curriculum development, department involvement, professional development, program promotion, and diversity initiatives.
Instructor Responsibilities- Provide classroom instruction, evaluate and advise students.
- Develop and/or revise curriculum.
- Participate in department meetings, program advisory committee meetings, and college wide events and open houses.
- Maintain technical knowledge in the field through active participation in professional development organizations and events.
- Promote and recruit programs within and outside of the College.
- Promote diversity and cultural competency.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean or Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- Two‑year diploma in an electrician program or completion of a registered electrician apprenticeship program.
- Four full‑time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience as a licensed electrician in residential and commercial settings.
- One year of this work experience must be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application. The recency requirement can be waived if the individual has two years of full‑time or equivalent postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
- State of Minnesota Class A Journeyman Electrician License.
- Teaching experience with a diverse group of students.
- Teaching in a community/tech college environment.

Salary RangeThe full salary range for a nine‑month academic year appointment is $43,067 – $94,542. Initial salary placement for new Minnesota State College faculty is between $43,067 and $71,893 with a 2.5% wage differential, depending on academic credentials and years of creditable professional experience.
