The Como Park Zoo and Conservatory education team is excited to announce an opening for a Residency Education Specialist position. Our team creates dynamic experiences that inspire curiosity, foster appreciation, and encourage action to protect our natural world. As a Residency Education Specialist, you’ll play a key role in bringing these experiences to third grade students — with frequent travel to schools across Minnesota as part of our high-impact Residency Program.
Here’swhat you can expect to do:
- Work a school-year schedule of 32 hours per week (September–May) with benefits.
- Travel throughout the state, including regular overnight stays when serving Greater Minnesota, to bring environmental education directly to students.
- Deliver hands‑on, interactive lessons as part of Como's high‑impact Residency Program focused on tropical rainforest ecosystems.
- Lead four‑day residency experiences at Como or in schools, helping make high‑quality environmental education accessible to students in both the Metro Area and Greater Minnesota.

QualificationsA Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience working in formal or informal educational settings.
Must possess a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License, or equivalent out‑of‑state driver's license.

- Early childhood development, school, or organizational group setting teaching
This position requires a background check, medical examination, and driver's license check as a condition of employment. Candidates will be required to submit proof of education to Human Resources upon conditional job offer, if qualifying based on education.
