Residency Education Specialist

The Como Park Zoo and Conservatory education team is excited to announce an opening for a Residency Education Specialist position. Our team creates dynamic experiences that inspire curiosity, foster appreciation, and encourage action to protect our natural world. As a Residency Education Specialist, you’ll play a key role in bringing these experiences to third grade students — with frequent travel to schools across Minnesota as part of our high-impact Residency Program.

• Work a school-year schedule of 32 hours per week (September–May) with benefits.
• Travel throughout the state, including regular overnight stays when serving Greater Minnesota, to bring environmental education directly to students.
• Deliver hands‑on, interactive lessons as part of Como's high‑impact Residency Program focused on tropical rainforest ecosystems.
• Lead four‑day residency experiences at Como or in schools, helping make high‑quality environmental education accessible to students in both the Metro Area and Greater Minnesota.

A Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience working in formal or informal educational settings.

Must possess a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License, or equivalent out‑of‑state driver's license.

• Early childhood development, school, or organizational group setting teaching

This position requires a background check, medical examination, and driver's license check as a condition of employment. Candidates will be required to submit proof of education to Human Resources upon conditional job offer, if qualifying based on education.
