Position: Contracted Faculty of Practice (Adjunct): Calculus Concordia Academy (PSEO)

Position Overview

Opportunity to teach college-level mathematics to high-achieving high school students. Concordia Academy in Roseville, MN, is seeking experienced candidates to teach one PSEO section of Calculus I to high school students during the Fall 2026 semester. Instructors are expected to demonstrate subject expertise while fostering an environment of active intellectual and creative engagement with students. The PSEO curriculum is provided by the Mathematics department at Concordia University, Saint Paul.

Calculus I – This course explores the concepts of limit and continuity, investigates techniques of differentiation and its applications, introduces integration, and provides the framework for the Fundamental Theorem.

Course Instruction Responsibilities
  • Facilitate quality student learning through teaching assigned courses.
  • In‑person Monday‑Thursday, 8:35‑9:50 AM and Friday, 8:55‑10 AM; some flexibility available on days of the week and class period length.
  • Increase student course engagement by providing an active learning environment.
  • Provide substantive and timely feedback on course assessments, following academic unit and university guidelines, within the Learning Management System, typically within five business days of the assessments’ due dates.
  • Respond to student inquiries typically within 24 hours during business days unless otherwise specified at the college level (48 hours on weekends, with closer monitoring if assignments are due during the weekend or on Monday).
  • Work collaboratively in a supportive academic environment, partnering with the academic team to ensure each student has the resources they need to succeed.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
  • Follow the university and academic unit’s policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Education Required:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field. Some graduate level mathematics or related field credits or AP Calculus Certification.
  • Education Preferred:
    Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field.
  • Experience

    Required:

    In‑person teaching or group tutoring experience at the college level.
  • Experience Preferred:
    In‑person teaching experience in mathematics at the college level.
  • Additional Certifications/Licenses:
    No certifications required.
