General Information
We are hiring a Community Learning Center Site Coordinator at Farnsworth Upper!
Minimum Qualifications- A high school diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of two years of experience in youth and family programs, which includes working with diverse populations and community involvement.
- Post-secondary coursework in education, community or parent education, recreation, child development, social services or a related field is preferred. (Equivalent combinations of education and/or experience will be considered.)
- Experience maintaining and monitoring budget records.
- Experience coordinating program activities with other agencies and organizations.
- Experience supervising program activities.
- Experience creating flyers and communications to promote programs.
- Knowledge of academic curriculum in order to develop programs to enhance student academic skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership skills in providing work direction for staff and implementing program activities.
- Computer skills in order to maintain automated budget and attendance records.
- Ability to identify problems and create solutions.
- Ability to write goals, create and implement strategies to achieve grant outcomes.
- Understanding of collaboration and partnering in order to work with a variety of community based organizations.
- Ability to develop positive relationships and work with a variety of staff including clerks, teachers, custodians, administrators, instructors and other support staff.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Work with the 21st CCLC Program Manager to ensure the effectiveness of the program.
- Work with principals and other school staff, community education staff, parents, youth, site and/or advisory councils, community agencies and organizations to plan and implement an expanded day and year academic support and enrichment program at a specific site.
- Develop goals and objectives and implement program strategies to meet the goals of the grant.
- Support the development and maintenance of data collection systems; develop reports, charts and other related documentation.
- Develop recruitment and retention strategies for student participation in the program in collaboration with classroom teachers, school staff and community organizations.
- Design a process for faculty, student, family and community involvement in planning and implementing the program.
- Promote and publicize the program of academic support and enrichment activities to be offered at the site.
- Recruit, hire (casual) staff, train teachers, partner and community staff, in the areas of youth development, program quality, curriculum connections, service learning, family and community outreach and related topics.
- May assist with facilitating training.
- Must be flexible with work schedule, may work on evenings and weekends.
- Form partnerships and collaborations with community based organizations and agencies.
- Maintain on‑going communication with the principal, community education staff, agency staff and other key stakeholders of the site regarding program effectiveness and challenges.
- Monitor the site budget using sound fiscal practices.
- Produce participation reports and other program reports as required; conduct evaluations of site programs, instructors and other staff and make site recommendations relating to program administration; process other documentation for the site as necessary.
- Assist with research of program development, innovation, and best practices.
- Identify potential funding sources and assist with writing grants for the sustainability of programs.
- Become knowledgeable about other related school district departments.
- Understand and align to the District's strategic plan efforts by partnering with other staff to contribute to student achievement and the alignment and sustainability of resources.
- Attend meetings as required and as appropriate.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Pay range for this position is: $64,119 to 97,476
Maximum hiring step = step twelve (12)
