Position: 2026 - 27 Tchr - Mathematics - Washington Tech Middle School

Washington Tech Middle School is hiring a Teacher-Mathematics for the  school year.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A valid Mathematics license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education to teach Grades 5–8.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the core curriculum areas the teacher is responsible for instructing.
  • Knowledge of teaching and learning strategies to meet a wide range of student learning styles and abilities.
  • Knowledge of multicultural, gender and disability fair curriculum concepts.
  • Knowledge of research and trends in teaching and learning styles.
  • Knowledge of instructional technologies.
  • Strong classroom presentation and management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, district staff and community members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to plan and implement lessons based upon district and school goals and objectives.
  • Ability to adapt teaching styles to diverse student populations.
  • Ability to evaluate student performance and present evaluations in a manner that fosters higher achievement.
  • Ability to work in a cooperative learning environment.
  • Ability to utilize computer and multimedia technology as appropriate.
Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in the core curriculum areas for which employed; make appropriate use of instructional resources and technologies.
  • Develop and implement innovative methods for providing instruction to students.
  • Support the Minnesota Graduation Standards and implement the goals and objectives of the District and the assigned school or program.
  • Evaluate student performance in accordance with the system used by the school and/or District; promote student achievement; maintain required student records; provide related reports to the principal as prescribed.
  • Maintain communication with parents and work with them in the academic development of students; participate in parent‑teacher conferences.
  • Perform classroom management duties; enforce rules governing student conduct; take appropriate disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Continue to seek professional growth and development in the curriculum areas for which employed; attend required professional development.
  • Contribute to the District's Strong Schools, Strong Communities efforts by partnering with staff to enhance student achievement and resource alignment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Salary & Benefits

Pay range: $58,584 – $111,399. Maximum hiring step: step 20. The full salary schedule is listed in the Teachers contract; salary information can be found in the Teachers Labor Agreement. Benefit information is available in the Teachers Full Time benefit summary.

Work Schedule

This is a 10‑month position, 40 hours per week.

Additional Information
  • Unofficial transcripts are accepted at the time of hire; official transcripts must be submitted within 30 days of the start date. Formal credential evaluation is required for post‑secondary education completed outside the United States.
  • Veterans’ Preference:
    Eligible veterans may claim preference by submitting a DD‑214. Points may be added to the final score.
  • Criminal background investigation and reference checks are conditions of hire for new employees and for former employees not employed by the District for more than six months.
  • Essential functions:

    Regular and reliable attendance; may be exposed to various cleaning products.
