School Age Care Coordinator

This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the before and after school childcare program at Nevis Public School. This includes managing student workers, program participants and their families, and any educational programming. Development of educational enrichment programs for both before and after school programs and for any and all summer activities. Direct student care is a part of the afternoon programming.

Rate of Pay

$/ Hour (Based on experience and Qualification)

Primary Duties
  • Provide care programs to elementary students ages 4-11 between the hours of 7-8am and 3:30-5:30pm Monday-Friday on days when school is in session. Summer Hours TBD by summer programming.
  • Program development in collaboration with Extended School Year for summer SAC programs.
  • Manage high school student workers:
    • Hiring, training, and management of student workers.
    • Communicate effectively with student workers.
    • Hold staff meetings and trainings for SAC staff.
  • Coordinate program participants:
    • Registration, scheduling, and overall program administration to ensure participant engagement.
    • Gather and maintain attendee schedules and coordinate schedules with student workers.
    • Ensure accurate in/out logs for snack program and program billing records.
    • Communicate closely with program families regarding concerns, schedules and questions.
    • Create/maintain parent sign out/sign in system.
  • Snacks (provided by school):
    • Work with kitchen staff to ensure correct number of snacks are provided each afternoon.
    • Maintain all snack records in accordance with state regulations.
