Job SummaryDevelop materials and lesson plans; conduct instruction; regularly evaluate instructional materials for grade appropriateness; and continually assess student development and performance. Regularly meet with parents/guardians and students to ensure understanding of strengths, weaknesses, progress, and any challenges affecting performance.
Qualifications- Early Childhood Education, Birth‑5, or Elementary Education with a pre‑primary specialty licensure issued by the State of Minnesota.
- Demonstrated pattern of working effectively and building positive relationships with colleagues and parents.
- Demonstrated pattern of building positive relationships with students coupled with consistent and powerful teaching strategies.
- Experience with cultural competency and a passion for working with and servicing diverse populations.
- Ability to inspire and motivate others toward a shared vision.

Salary/Wage InformationAs per the SCEA Master Contract, $55,880 – $105,432 (based on 1.0 FTE). A generous insurance plan is included.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepares and conducts parent/child curriculum and activities per program policies and philosophies.
- Prepares curriculum and follows scope and sequence of required resources for preschool.
- Provides tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities.
- Creates and implements intentional activities and conversations surrounding Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the classroom.
- Provides timely and effective supervision and direction for assistants, interns, student teachers, and volunteers.
- Meets with caregivers twice per year for student conferences and keeps them current and informed on program developments.
- Assists the Program Administrator in regularly assessing and evaluating results to guide long‑range program planning.
- Attends and participates in regular staff meetings, professional development, and other special program activities as scheduled.
- Makes referrals, in consultation with the Administrator if appropriate, to outside community resources, including follow‑up on such referrals.
- Regularly assesses and evaluates one’s own professional development needs and plans strategies to meet those needs.
- Maintains required records and data according to program policies and procedures, ensuring accurate and timely availability of information.
- Assists in program outreach and public relations activities as time permits and contributes thoughts and articles to the program newsletter when asked.
- Collects authentic data regularly.
- Enters assessment data at least twice per year.
- Performs other job‑related duties as requested or assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Formal preparation and required licensure by the State of Minnesota.
- Knowledge and understanding of current practices in early childhood curriculum development and the ability to create curriculum, activities, and approaches accordingly.
- Ability to make decisions on design, content, and delivery alternatives consistent with the program and appropriate for adults and children.
- Knowledge of and ability to use and teach skills in group process, observe and record child development, and reinforce positive parenting.
- Skills and ability to provide and ensure an honest, respectful, caring, and safe learning environment.
- Knowledge of appropriate resources inside and outside the District, applied effectively.
- Demonstrates interest in staying current and effective through continuous education and other applicable opportunities.
- Knowledge of existing electronic and/or hard‑copy records management to ensure appropriate and secure use of information.
