Position Summary
The Academic Affairs department herine University invites applications for a part-time Placement Coordinator position. Initial licensure candidates have several required clinical experiences that must be completed in teacher preparation courses prior to Student Teaching. The Placement Coordinator arranges fieldwork and clinical experiences, including gathering paperwork from candidates, making contacts with host sites, assigning faculty and adjunct supervisors to observe candidate performance, facilitating co‑teaching training, and conducting meetings with candidates and supervisors.
The Coordinator also develops and reviews documents such as applications and handbooks. Additionally, the Coordinator facilitates the Pre‑Student Teaching Interview (PSTI) process, coordinates scheduling, and develops materials each semester. The Coordinator supports the Licensure Coordinator by ensuring materials are distributed to teacher candidates, assisting in planning and facilitation of edTPA training for candidates and faculty, assisting with local edTPA assessment, and participating in edTPA‑specific professional development.
- Bachelor’s degree
- One year of experience using Learning Management Systems (e.g., D2L) and data management/electronic portfolio/assessment management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Taskstream)
- One year of experience using Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills within professional settings
- Teaching license in any area
- Classroom experience
- Experience in teacher education or student placement experience in schools
- Knowledge of Minnesota Licensure Requirements and PELSB Rules
Annual wage ranges from $25,699 to $35,973 depending on qualifications and experience. This is a part‑time (0.50 FTE) position. Employees working 0.50–1.0 FTE are eligible for prorated sick time based on their FTE status.
