Overview
Make a difference supporting high school students in a dynamic special education setting. This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for a motivated Special Education Teacher ready to foster reading skills and executive functioning in a structured environment. The assignment runs from September 2026 through Thanksgiving 2026, with a consistent daytime schedule, 7:30 AM 3:30 PM.
Key Qualifications- Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field
- Completion of a state-approved special education teacher preparation program
- Active Minnesota teaching license through the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board
- Demonstrated mastery of Standards of Effective Practice and Special Education core competencies
- Licensure in an appropriate area (e.g., Learning Disabilities, ABS, EBD)
- Successful completion of student teaching/practicum experience
- Background working with high school students
- Experience delivering reading intervention and strengthening executive functioning skills
- Proven expertise in IEP development and compliance
- Comfort collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
- Manage a caseload of approximately 1620 high school students
- Deliver targeted instruction in reading and study skills, supporting academic organization and planning
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Maintain compliance with all state and district special education regulations
- Collaborate regularly with general education teachers and student support teams
