Compensation: Elementary $15.00 - $15.75/hr doq;
Secondary $16.75 - $17.50/hr doq.
- Arrives 30 minutes before the first scheduled community group.
- Obtains building keys from lock-box or other designated area and disarms/arms security alarm as necessary.
- Checks Community Education mailbox and retrieves voicemail messages.
- Reviews facility use requests and class plans and discusses with custodial staff as necessary.
- Sets up a greeting area at the entrance designated by Community Education to help direct the public to their event location.
- Wears district identification badge and remains visible to groups, being polite and courteous at all times.
- Introduces self to the leaders of community groups and class instructors.
- Provides equipment that has been requested and approved for use by the facilities office and assists groups with set‑up and take‑down as necessary.
- Serves as on‑site registrar of Community Education classes.
- Provides Community Education teachers with instructional materials that are delivered by interoffice mail. This includes items such as rosters, evaluation and handouts.
- Supervises children found wandering outside the assigned area. Returns child(ren) to the care of available parent or group leader.
- Asks unauthorized or unsupervised people to leave the building.
- Throughout work shift, makes periodic checks of areas used.
- Demonstrates knowledge of safety and emergency procedures for the building of assignment.
- Observes activities in and around the school to help prevent property damage and theft. Reports illegal activities to the police and Community Education facilities office.
- Ensures areas are returned to their original condition; areas used should be vacuumed, dust mopped as necessary.
- Secures building at the end of shift including turning off lights, checking appropriate doors and notifying custodians of departure before leaving the building.
- Completes necessary paperwork including weekly reports, time sheets, accident reports and attendance rosters, etc.
- Attends periodic staff meetings and in‑services.
