Admissions Recruitment Assistant
This is a temporary, part‑time opportunity averaging 15‑20 hours/week, January–May, no benefits.

The Admissions Recruitment Assistant supports Luther Seminary’s mission by assisting the Admissions Office with recruitment of qualified applicants for graduate certificate and master’s degree programs, and secondarily for non‑degree offerings. The assistant helps develop recruitment resources, staffs events, serves as an initial point of contact for discerning students, and welcomes them with openness and hospitality.

Essential Functions – Recruitment- Assist recruitment and welcome efforts to achieve enrollment goals.
- Staff off‑campus recruitment and outreach visits (faith communities, colleges and universities, outdoor ministries, seminary fairs, ministry and church conferences, service corps, non‑profits).
- Serve as initial point of contact for prospective students, providing introductory information and connecting them with staff and faculty.
- Assist with admissions events, including virtual and in‑person campus visits, discernment events, open houses, high‑school previews, camp fairs, and other recruitment‑related events.
- Help support and create multimedia resources for recruitment (print, digital, video, social media).
- Travel and occasionally work evenings and weekends when needed.
- Accompany discerning students, advising on program fit, admissions requirements, financial aid, residential life, and spiritual formation resources.
- Pro‑actively communicate with prospective students via phone, written, digital, virtual, and face‑to‑face contact, representing Luther Seminary in a manner consistent with mission, vision, values, and welcome statement.
- Maintain admissions records and keep accurate accounting of all student communications in the database, ensuring data confidentiality.
- Support a campus culture where diversity is valued and inclusion is encouraged.
- Represent Luther Seminary positively toward prospective, former, and current students, ministry partners, and the community we serve.
- Execute administrative tasks such as travel reports, expense tracking, and data coding.
- Attend all meetings, including check‑ins with supervisor (monthly), Enrollment Team meetings (weekly), and other meetings as needed.
- Perform other functions as necessary or assigned.
- Understanding and commitment to Luther Seminary’s Mission, Vision, Welcome Statement, and ABIDE framework (Accountability, Belonging, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity).
- 1‑2 years of experience in admissions/recruitment, higher education, and/or ministry/nonprofit organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable with public speaking and/or preaching.
- Ability to articulate personal faith and vocation, engage students with varied theological perspectives, and demonstrate intercultural competency.
- Handles confidential information with the utmost tact and discretion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft and Google environments (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with relationship‑management databases preferred (e.g., Slate).
- Relationship‑building and customer service experience.
- Ability to accept coaching, show initiative, work independently or in a team, and manage a calendar and frequent meetings.
- Highly organized, proactive, flexible, and adaptable to changing contexts.
- Willingness to travel and work varied schedule, including occasional nights and weekends.
