Job Description:
Metro State University, a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System, is seeking to hire an adjunct professor of Technical Communication and Interaction Design for the Fall 2026 Semester. Assigned courses may include the following:
- TCID 261-50:
Business Writing - TCID 271-50:
Technical Writing
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a commitment to serving a diverse student body by delivering a student-centered education and using approaches that support equitable outcomes for all students.
- Provide excellent learning environments through in-person, online, and/or hybrid course modalities.
Minimum Qualifications (Undergraduate):
- Master’s degree, terminal degree, or J.D. in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach; or
- Master’s degree, terminal degree, or J.D. with expertise in a different discipline or subfield and at least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach; or
- Master’s degree, terminal degree, or J.D. with expertise in a different discipline or subfield and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach; or
- Bachelor’s degree in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach, and at least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework or equivalent professional certification; or
- Bachelor’s degree in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field, or 1 year of work experience and discipline-specific certification.
Minimum Qualifications (Graduate):
- Terminal degree or J.D. in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
- Master’s degree in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach and at least 18 semester hour credits of terminal degree graduate coursework in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach; or
- Master’s degree in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield.
