Schubert Club’s vision is to be a classical music organization that learns and evolves, celebrating music’s power to connect us all. Schubert Club presents concerts, operates a music museum in Landmark Center, St Paul, and offers education and museum programs including the awarding of scholarships through the annual Bruce P.

Carlson Student Scholarship Competition and the Musical Promise scholarships program. We are committed to maintaining a collaborative and compassionate work culture among the administrative team.

• Salary range: $80,000-$85,000 per year

The Director of Education, Community Partnerships & Museum leads the development, implementation and evaluation of Schubert Club’s educational and museum programs, scholarship initiatives, and community partnerships. Working closely with the Artistic & Executive Director, this position helps advance Schubert Club’s vision of connecting people with music through meaningful learning experiences, reciprocal community partnerships, and engaging museum programs. The Director oversees the day-to-day leadership of these programs while fostering collaboration across the organization.

This role combines program leadership, relationship management, staff supervision, budget management, and thoughtful innovation to ensure Schubert Club’s learning initiatives remain vibrant, relevant, and responsive to the communities we serve.

EDUCATION (40%):
Direct, plan, evaluate and provide hands‑on oversight for Schubert Club’s music education and scholarship programs.

• Plan educationally effective music programs and artist residencies to engage students, families and learners of all ages in music education. Establish and maintain relationships with organizational partners to develop relevant programming. Contract with teaching artists, plan the calendar, and work with staff to manage all programs.

• Oversee the Bruce P. Carlson Student Scholarship Competition and Winners Recital. Annually review competition rules for fairness and stay informed regarding best practices for conducting student competitions.

• Direct the Musical Promise Scholarship program. Collaborate with local education partners to facilitate the nomination process, match students with mentors, and identify learning opportunities. Monitor and assess student progress, audit scholarships annually, and review each mentor relationship regularly.

• Coordinate oversight with the Project CHEER Director to ensure the Project CHEER music education program is successful and well‑managed. Maintain a strong relationship with partner locations of the Project CHEER program, the Hallie Q. Brown Community Center and Mount Airy Boys & Girls Club.

• Develop and implement curriculum appropriate for the K-12 public school standards. Identify, build and maintain relationships with schools, teaching artists, and other stakeholders to produce engaging content and to keep Schubert Club music education programs and curriculum relevant and current.

• Provide direction and oversight for the Student Connections Club.

• With the Artistic & Executive Director, plan public master classes with visiting guest artists.

• Plan and program additional non‑residency education activities as requests and opportunities with community partners arise.

• Collaborate with Marketing/Communications staff to provide appropriate marketing support for all educational programming.
