The Tone:
This is a full-time role at ISD 622, located in the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale area. This role is essential for delivering specialized instruction and support to students with special education needs, ensuring their academic progress and adherence to all legal and regulatory guidelines.

This person will manage special education cases, provide direct instruction, and ensure compliance with state and federal special education rules and regulations. - Tech Stack:

What You’ll Actually Do
- Case Management:
Serve as a case manager by developing and maintaining IEPs, facilitating IEP meetings, and communicating progress reports and procedural safeguards to parents. - Direct Instruction:
Provide specialized instruction to students receiving special education services to assist them in attaining their individualized IEP goals. - Compliance and Evaluation:
Adhere to due process guidelines, utilizing district methods to evaluate special education needs, determining eligibility, and facilitating evaluation plans and reports. - Collaboration and Support:
Work collaboratively with general education teachers, related service providers, outside agencies, and paraprofessionals to support student learning and IEP implementation. - Behavior and Safety:
Develop and implement proactive and positive behavioral interventions based on FBA results, and utilize techniques to maintain a safe environment, such as MANDT or CPI.
The Must-Haves
- Background:
Bachelor’s Degree; core domain knowledge in special education, including due process procedures and behavior management. - Experience:
Experience teaching school-age students; knowledge and experience with due process procedures; training and experience in behavior management and crisis response. - Skills:
Valid MN teaching license in a special education field; excellent communication skills; ability to work collaboratively and positively with a multi-disciplinary team; experience with conflict resolution; meet the professional development requirements of the MN READ Act (e.g., LETRS, CORE OL&LA, CAREIALL).
