The ASL - Interpreting Program herine University invites applications for a part-time ASL Lab Coordinator position.
- Orient students to the ASL lab experience, including establishing a safe, supportive learning environment conducted solely in ASL.
- Design and prep immersion learning experiences for individual students' unique characteristics through classes, individual instruction, weekly events, and self-directed learning.
- Design and implement various language instruction and immersion objectives and experiences both face to face (on-campus) and virtually appropriate to ASL proficiency practice.
- Provide 1:1 students feedback on understanding Deaf culture and ASL language concepts discussed in their classes.
- Help students to identify and understand parameter errors in utilizing ASL.
- Maintain a direct line of communication with course instructors and the ASL program coordinator.
- Collect data and assesses the quality of the lab experience at the conclusion of the term.

- Documented ASLPI score of 4 or above or SLPI score of Superior
- For Native users of ASL waiver of above score documentation will be given consideration during interview process
- Documented knowledge of video editing skills and software knowledge.
- Bachelor Degree in ASL Studies, Deaf Studies or related field
Hourly wage is $17.50 - $22.50 depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity, at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors. St. Catherine reserves the right to modify or adjust compensation depending on University needs.
This is a part-time (0.50 FTE) position. Employees working .50 - 1.0 FTE are eligible to accrue sick time prorated based on their FTE status if less than a 1.0 FTE.
