The Department of Economics at Macalester College invites applications for a full-time tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin in the 2027-28 academic year. We seek candidates with teaching and research interests in Behavioral Economics. A Ph.D. degree is expected by August 2027.

Macalester faculty teach five semester course sections per year (typically two to three distinct courses), supervise honors theses, maintain an active scholarly agenda, and engage in departmental activities.
During their first year, new faculty teach four courses and attend a weekly new faculty development seminar.
The starting salary range for this position will be $99,000-$102,000, depending on experience. If the candidate is an advanced assistant candidate, salary would be above this range and based on internal equity. At Macalester, we offer a generous package of employee benefits.
