Teacher Assistant/ Paraprofessional, Early Childhood Education, Special Education Assistant
Start Date: 26-27 SY (ASAP)
Salary: Per Paraprofessional Agreement, Level 1
Student Level: Kindergarten and/or 3rd Grade
Work Week: Monday - Friday, 6.5 hours per day.
Education And /or ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED and moderate experience working with children, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates/Technical degree preferred.
Special RequirementsMust hold AA/AS degree, completed 60 semester credits, or pass MN Paraprofessional test. Training in Blood Borne Pathogens upon hire. Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention within 6-12 months upon hire as needed for program. Valid driver's license in the State of Minnesota
Position SummaryWe are seeking an enthusiastic Instructional Assistant to support our Kindergarten and 2nd Grade Programs. The ideal candidate will play a key role in assisting the classroom teacher in delivering instruction, promoting academic growth, and supporting a positive learning environment for young learners.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the grade level teachers.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
- Provide individualized support to students to meet their language and academic needs, promoting and academic development.
- Assist in organizing classroom materials and resources to support learning and student engagement.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to strengthen instructional practices.
- Passion for working with young children and supporting bilingual education.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families.
- Ability to adapt to the diverse needs of students.
- Previous experience in an educational setting is preferred, but not required.
