Food Science & Nutrition - Temporary Lecturer

Hours:

75% Time (30 hours a week).

This is a temporary position with an end date of January 13th, 2027.

The appointee will be expected to:

• Teach FSCN 3731/3732:
  Food Service Operations Management lecture and lab.
• Prepare and update course materials in communication with the program director and DPD director.
• Advise students with regard to academic concerns and school-related organizations
• Continue personal growth within the profession, keep current with the field and broaden knowledge and expertise
• Supervise and work closely with graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants in your course as they perform their duties.

Required: MS in food science, nutrition or closely related field. Professional experience in working in the food service industry or similar. Serv Safe certification. Strong culinary skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Preferred: Ph.D. in food science, nutrition or closely related field. Evidence of ability to work independently and in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members, evidence of effective classroom and laboratory teaching, evidence of undergraduate student mentorship

Pay Range: $68,000 - $77,000
; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 75% Appointment
