ABOUTTHE ROLE
The Solid Works PDM Administrator will play a critical role in managing and optimizing Solid Works PDM and related systems. This hybrid position, based in Arlington Heights, IL (3 days onsite), requires a mix of technical expertise, problem‑solving skills, and collaboration with global teams. The role includes system administration, license management, technical support, training, and integration with platforms such as Windchill.
It is offered as a potential temp‑to‑hire position, subject to budget availability.
- Administer Solid Works PDM and support upgrades across all Solid Works products
- Manage configuration changes and troubleshoot system issues in collaboration with resellers or Solid Works support
- Implement new Solid Works functionality as released
- Oversee Autodesk and Solid Works license management, including purchasing, monitoring, and optimization
- Support integration of Solid Works PDM with Windchill, including servers, custom software, and databases
- Provide technical support for Solid Works products, Virtual Desktop Environments (VMWare, Azure Local), and related systems
- Develop and update training modules and documentation for PDM and related integrations
- Conduct training sessions for end users, administrators, and IT teams
- Create Knowledge Base resources for global stakeholders
- Collaborate with site leads to understand requirements, share updates, and support system changes
- Associate degree in Engineering Drafting & Design or related field
- Five or more years of Solid Works and Solid Works PDM experience (must be shown on resume)
- At least two years as a Solid Works PDM Administrator (must be shown on resume)
- Knowledge of SQL, with ability to read and write queries
- Programming skills in C#, Visual Basic, REST API, and COM API
- Experience with SharePoint development, including Power Apps and Power Automate
- Understanding of server architecture, data storage, and network infrastructure
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%
- Commitment to staying current with MCAD technology trends
- Hybrid work schedule: three days onsite in Arlington Heights, IL
