This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
This position will provide professional architectural design, documentation, and construction project management activities required to support the repair, replacement, and preservation of MnDOT facilities. This position will spend a majority of the time on project management of building construction contracts.
MnDOT does not sponsor applicants for visas or Optional Practical Exam for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.
Minimum Qualifications- Licensed as a Professional Architect with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design.
- AND three years of post‑licensure, professional architectural experience that demonstrates the following:
- Experience managing the design and construction of all phases (pre‑design, design, procurement, construction, and post occupancy) of commercial or industrial building projects, including architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Experience with “responsible‑in‑charge” management and inspection of construction projects. In the application, list your five most recent projects with a construction value of $3M+.
- Experience in applying cost management and budgeting principles and practices for construction project management.
- Experience in the production of design and contract documents, including drawings, technical specifications, and bidding requirements.
- Experience applying Minnesota building codes, ADA, and environmental regulations.
- Experience using B3 guidelines for the design and construction of sustainable buildings.
- Experience using computer aided drafting tools.
- Experience leading major construction projects with a construction value of $10M+.
