Our client in the architectural millwork industry is hiring a Project Engineer to join their onsite team in Wyoming, MN. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on, detail‑driven environment and enjoys seeing complex, custom projects through from concept to completion. You’ll play a critical role in translating architectural intent into buildable, high‑quality millwork solutions, working closely with project managers, drafters, shop personnel, and job site teams.

You will split your time between collaborating in the office and visiting job sites for field measurements and project updates.

To succeed in this role, you must be comfortable juggling multiple projects at once, proactively solving problems, and collaborating across both office and shop environments. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in custom millwork engineering, understands how things are built, and takes pride in ensuring accuracy before work ever reaches the shop floor. This is an exciting opportunity to work on one‑of‑a‑kind projects, gain exposure to the full lifecycle of custom architectural millwork, and grow within an employee‑owned organization that values craftsmanship, collaboration, and long‑term investment in its people.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret architectural drawings into clear, accurate shop drawings
  • Engineer custom solutions; apply value engineering where appropriate
  • Review/approve drafter drawings before client submission
  • Complete field measurements; verify fit; resolve site issues
  • Generate cut lists; support shop through production
  • Create work orders; coordinate material purchasing and samples
  • Partner with suppliers on materials, pricing, and lead times
  • Collaborate with PMs, drafters, shop, and on‑site supervision
  • Participate in weekly EOS workload reviews with the team
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of architectural millwork industry experience required
  • Ability to read architectural drawings/specifications required
  • Familiarity with AWI standards and millwork materials required
  • Comfortable in customer‑facing, on‑site field roles required
