Position Overview
The Technical Specialist supports product development, customer launches, and troubleshooting through lab testing, pilot trials, data analysis, and customer‑engagement activities. This role operates lamination and adhesive equipment, manages project workflows, and provides technical insights to internal teams and external partners.
Primary Responsibilities- Conduct lab testing and pilot trials for new product development, customer launches, and troubleshooting.
- Perform root cause analysis for customer complaints and claims.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Lead investigations and support resolution of customer quality issues.
- Demonstrate product features and benefits to customers and internal partners.
- Lead internal and onsite customer lamination trials.
- Prioritize equipment requests and create project plans with timelines, deliverables, and resource needs.
- Execute projects using recognized project management methodologies.
- Manage inventory of adhesives, films, and critical parts for the pilot facility.
- Analyze and interpret test data to provide actionable recommendations.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external audiences.
- Document technical learnings, best practices, and trial outcomes.
- High School Diploma with 6+ years of relevant technical experience OR
- Associate degree in Chemistry, Chemistry Technology, Applied Science, or related field with 2+ years of experience OR
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Packaging Engineering, or related discipline with 1+ years of experience.
- Strong analytical background with knowledge of test equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn internal systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct field trials and support customers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Travel up to 25% within North America.
- Experience with flexible packaging adhesives, laminators, and testing instruments.
- Fouryear technical degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Packaging Engineering.
- Familiarity with tools such as FTIR, MSA, GC/MS, LCMS, and microscopy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (reasonable accommodations available).
- Exposure to chemicals in a lab environment; strict adherence to PPE and safety protocols required.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
The salary for this role is $70,000 - $90,000.
