About the role:Currie & Brown is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with the flexibility to work remotely for candidates located outside the area.
The successful candidate will support project leaders by delivering core cost management services, including estimating, procurement support, and cost planning. This role will play a key part in ensuring projects are delivered on budget, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards across complex construction programs.
Responsibilities will include:- Preparation and analysis (scoping) of electrical construction costs and estimating
- Responsible for driving the estimating and cost management function for assigned projects, including benchmarking, cost control, and cost reporting
- Provide leadership regarding the cost and direction to the client’s project management team on assigned projects
- Support, and partner with procurement, value engineering, LEED analysis, and life cycle cost studies
- Responsible for maintaining the accurate current project cost status on a weekly basis
- Lead change order meetings and collaborate with project manager in validating and pricing the changes across multiple trade specialties
- Participate in the review of estimates for completeness and accuracy
- Strong professional interpersonal skills and appreciation of challenges involved with working within a clients’ office environment
- Common Microsoft tools, will learn client’s preferred cost management software as needed
- Excellent time management and organization skills, the ability to plan work and prioritize demands
- Strong presentation and communication skills, ability to chair and run scope and estimate review meetings
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of electrical or low-voltage experience in the construction industry.
