Job Description
Join CDM Smith’s Twin Cities team as a Senior Engineer to advance your career in municipal water and wastewater engineering. Collaborate with industry-leading experts on large, cutting‑edge projects that make an impact locally and across the nation.
Responsibilities- Work with large Minnesota‑regional and national clients to solve engineering challenges in the water and wastewater industry.
- Design pipeline assessment, rehabilitation, and replacement projects for potable water and wastewater systems.
- Provide engineering support during design and construction of major regional water treatment projects.
- Lead design tasks by engaging directly with stakeholders throughout capital project design and construction phases.
- Participate in project management tasks such as defining scope, managing budgets, and project coordination.
- Meet with existing and prospective clients to support the sales team and facilitate pursuit of current and upcoming project opportunities.
- Enhance technical expertise through collaboration with leading professionals within the organization, including participation in research and development initiatives and conferences.
- Provide mentorship to junior staff through structured guidance, work assignments, and technical reviews.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- 10 years of related experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required, contingent on specific duties and project demands.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Knowledge of engineering principles of design for municipal water and wastewater projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a desire for client‑facing interactions.
10% travel required.

Pay Range$100,214 – $175,365
